Meet the Trainers
Johan Duluc CPT Fitness Professional
Unlike most fitness professionals, Johan didn’t always have a passion for athletic training. In fact, he did not even start training consistently until after high school. During high school he was involved perennially in sports such as lacrosse, basketball, and football. Obviously, during this time, being in shape was never an issue. The coaches he encountered during this time had many great qualities as motivators and fundamental instructors, but they had little knowledge on how to take someone from the plateau of good to the upper echelon of greatness.
It was not until after high school that Johan became aware of the world of health and fitness. Plagued by an inactive lifestyle and an ever-increasing waistline he knew it was time to take accountability and initiative. After joining a local health club, he finagled his way into a job at the very same facility. As an employee he had the opportunity to learn from many great individuals such as Billy Beck III and Michelle Diaz.
Michelle’s meticulous approach to weight training technique and an overall healthy lifestyle, coupled with an unmatched enthusiasm for her profession awakened the same passion in Johan. During his time as a client Johan observed and copied these good habits and followed the instruction of his trainer painstakingly, the results were like none he could have ever imagined. In 3 months time he changed his body with the whole process culminating in a rather embarrassing poster board documenting his progress for the entire world to see.
In the wake of his body transformation he started seeing that other aspects of his life were different as well. He noticed a correlation between setting and attaining physical goals and personal goals. It was as if the strength he gained in the gym had spilled over into all other aspects of his life. He noticed his whole perception of the world around him had changed. If he could morph his internal environment to match the picture in his head, what was stopping him from doing the same with the external environment?
To him, the most drawing aspect of training was not the heavy lifting or the bulging muscles, even though bulging muscles are nice, it was the mental aspect of training. The notion that by tapping into the power of the mind he could push himself faster and harder than he ever thought possible was addicting. That idea is what he aims to bring to his clients, that you can be the best version of yourself if you test your mind. The best way to challenge the mind is to challenge the body.
