TestimonialsCharlie Dominguez
I have been fighting my weight my entire life. A year ago or so I decided to do something about it after stepping on a scale and weighing more than I had ever weighed before 354 lbs. I have been active but I admit that the last few years 10 to be exact I was more on the couch than on my feet. I work in the medical device field and have insight into cardiovascular disease. This woke me up to the realization that I was a ticking time bomb. I have lost weight before and tried many commercial diets and supplements with limited success. I knew what I needed to do, right? Wrong. I started on my own with little success. I talked to my sister Daphne Sullivan who had great success in loosing weight by working out and eating right. She had done it with the help of a personal trainer. She told me that I should go workout with her and that is the only way to do it. I saw how she had changed her attitude toward exercise and eating. She recommended that I go to BB3 and talk with Sally Spooner her trainer. I decided that I could do it alone however the results were not there. After several weeks and much thought I made a decision to call and meet with Sally at BB3. I considered all my options even bariatric surgery. I was motivated by my age and my family. My wife and three wonderful kids who I want to see grow up drove me to change. My cardiologist had me on Lipitor as well as other medications and this was the beginning. I knew it was now or never. We met and started working out three times a week. I still remember that first workout as if it was yesterday and how miserable I felt all day. However, after several months I felt much better and the pounds started coming off. Even with the success that I had with Sally I wanted a challenge I needed to be challenged. I decided to attend the Breakthrough in 2010 seminar that Billy Beck had in January. I sat there and realized that I was the limiting factor. I realized that the possibilities were endless. As I heard Billy’s presentation about fitness and he showed the pictures of those who had broken through I decided that I wanted to do it. I made the decision to do the Lean and Mean challenge. I had been working out for a few months but the results I saw with this program were awesome. I realized that nutrition is as important to my long term success as working out is. I understand the consequences and I have changed the way I eat completely. My family joined an organic cooperative. We now eat organic local vegetables. We buy organic meats, poultry and eggs. This program taught me the value in eating natural foods and combining that with exercise the results have been weight loss success. I have changed my attitude. I look forward to working out. I have done things like the G-Force Circuit, Boxing Class and the Big League Boot camp. I look forward to my weekends so I can try to do something more. If you had asked me a few months ago that I would be doing any of these things I would have laughed. Now I look forward to being challenged. Every time I see a co-worker or family member that has not seen me in a while say “WOW! You have lost some weight” it drives me to reach my ultimate weight loss goal. I have been asked if I had bariatric surgery and I laugh. I did it the right way I respond. Eating right and exercising. The great thing is that I am not stopping here. I had my blood work done back in September of 2009 and my total cholesterol was 238, triglyceride was 136, HDL was 41 and my LDL was 170. I had my blood work taken in March and my results were astonishing. My total cholesterol was 154, triglyceride 55, HDL 42, and LDL 101. I no longer take medications. After my boss saw me and said “Charlie, you need to buy some new clothes” I went and bought some! It has been a great journey and I look forward to my next challenge. Thank you Billy and more importantly thank you Sally for helping me Breakthroug Sincerely, Charles Dominguez
